............well we weren't but hang in there!
A driver is stuck in a traffic jam on the M4. Nothing has moved for half an hour when suddenly a man knocks on the
driver's window. The driver rolls it down and asks, 'What's going on?'
Man replies, 'Terrorists down the road have kidnapped Gordon Brown, Alistair Darling, David Miliband and Jack Straw. They're asking for a £10 million ransom or they're going to douse them with petrol and set them on fire. We're going from car to car, taking up a collection.'
Driver asks, 'How much is everyone giving then?'
'About a gallon.'

Bad nights suck!
Had a bad night last night, couldn't get to sleep for ages, lots of things fizzing around in my brain. Slept through my alarm and so Sam was late for school and I was late for work.
Needless to say I am a little bit tired now but at least I made it in to work.
Might try for an early one tonight.

Amberian Dawn & Pythia @ The Underworld
Following our meeting and eating (and drinking), Roger, Rae, Toni and I went downstairs to The Underworld to see Amberian Dawn and Pythia.
PYTHIA
Pythia are fronted by Medaeval Babes & Celtic Legend songstress Emily Ovenden. Other than one track on Myspace I had never heard anything by them before but they were really good. Can't wait to get the CD that they have just completed and also go and see them live again.

AMBERIAN DAWN
I really like Amberian Dawn, operatic vocals on top of speed metal riffage! They really delivered live and put on a good show and all really seemed to be enjoying themselves. The also had one of my favourite things,a comedy bass player who threw some amazing faces!

Meeting up with friends
Toni and I dropped Sam off at Sophie's before heading off to Camden to meet up with friends for a meal and a gig.
Just before we left:

On the train:

Once we got to Camden we were going to have a mooch but the heavens opened so we headed to Wagamama to take shelter and wait for the rest of the gang. Roger, Rae, Rhonda and Sarah weren't far behind us and we enjoyed a very nice meal.
Rae and Roger:

Toni:

Me:

Following food we trotted off to the World's End for some liquid refreshment prior to going to the gig.

Lily Allen @ Shepherd's Bush Empire
Toni and I ventured into deepest darkest Shepherds Bush to see Lily Allen. As were were on limited funds we looked for somewhere cheap to eat and found a delightful little noodle bar where we enjoyed a really nice variety of dishes for bugger all money, RESULT!
And now for the bad news..... following on from our meal we wandered off to the Empire. I guess you could have seen it as an omen, as we got through the doors to the main hall the strap on my bag broke (with the metal bit on the end flying back and catching Toni on the head), not a great start.
Not sure it was the blow to the head that did this:

My poor bag............. :o(

We bought a couple of drinks and then watched La Roux take the stage. This band have been tipped as one of the next big things for 2009 but I can't for the life of me think why. The sound system wasn't great but they sounded like a very poor 80s electronica band and the vocalist was nothing special.
After a brief wait (and amusing ourselves listening to some testosterone fuelled moron showing off to the girl he was with) we managed to get through five Lily Allen numbers before leaving. The sound was really dire and as Lily Allen's strong point is her clever lyrics it kind of defeated the object when she was drowned out in the mix by the rest of the band. I have to say I was bitterly disappointed. I am sure that she is really good live but the sound was so bad that it just didn't come across. On the plus side it did mean that we got home early for once!
Just for the record, here's a couple of pics taken way back as I couldn't be bothered to fight my way nearer to get some.

Devilish Presley @ The Gaff
Sam and I took off for London this evening to see the awesome Devilish Presley playing at The Gaff (The Nag's Head on Holloway Road)
It's a great little venue that just oozes rock n roll!

And so we now move on to the bands performing tonight.
GLOBAL NOISE ATTACK
Wow! What a way to start a gig. One guitarist onstage playing along to a DAT of music and a singer who came in from behind us, showing his behind! These guys were so much fun to watch, it was all very tongue in cheek backed up with some great songs. Go and see this band, you won't regret it!

MEMPHIS MAFIA BAND
The Memphis Mafia Band weren't really my cup of tea but they were OK. If anything they were a bit of a disappointment after Global Noise Attack's fun show. More of a band to have a drink and chill out to but I wanted FUN!

See all the pics here: 260309MemphisMafiaBand
DEVILISH PRESLEY
And last but by no means least came Devilish Presley, a sonic wall of glam glitter punk rock which was just FUN from start to finish. I want to see this band AGAIN and AGAIN and would love to see them team up with SPiT LiKE THiS!

Copyright! Copywrong!
Matt Rowe, guitarist for Hollywood Doll, has just discovered (thanks to a tip off from me) that someone is planning on releasing an EP (that they are already allowing people to pay for in advance) that has one of his songs on it. The blog entry on this person's Myspace page says musical credit to Matt Rowe. Here's the rub though, he knew nothing about. He hadn't even been asked if the song could be used, let alone given his person for it to be used. Needless to say he is a little pissed off!
Ironically I had already spoke to this person about copyright of songs and using them without permission, seems they weren't listening. I can only assume that, as Matt hasn't given his permission for his song to be used, the other 4 tracks that are listed are also in danger of being used without permission.
No doubt the person selling advance copies had no intention of giving Matt any financial reward for using his song so she makes the cash off of his work and he gets fuck all!
Copyright is copyright, don't do your own thing and make it copywrong!

Antisocial mastication!
Time for a little rant about one of my pet hates, antisocial mastication!
Whilst I have no objection to gum chewing, I am a fan myself, I absolutely hate it when people chew it like they are a cow. The whole massive open mouth movements accompanied by a loud, slurping, chomping sound really gets my heckles up. Out in the open air it isn't so bad as you only have to cope with the visual element (which is unattractive enough) but in a confined space, like a train or office, it is totally intolerable. If I can hear it across the other side of room then what must it sound like up close?
It's not big and not clever and the people who do it surely must be aware of the noise they are making? I have noticed that sometimes people wearing headphones are even worse, not sure if the noise just drowns their incessant chomping and slurping and they are blissfully unaware or if they make it louder just so that they know that they are still chewing (kind of like blokes touching their privates all the time just to check if they are still there)!
Contrary to what these people might think, it IS a problem. If someone politely asks you to stop it then please take it on board that perhaps it IS a problem and you should modify your chewing habits. We should not have to put up with this antisocial mastication so CUT IT OUT!

Back at the gym again
Hands up who thought my fitness exploits would be over once the Vertical Rush was over? OK own up, who said that? LOL
Well Sam and I were back again tonight and it was business as usual and another hard workout but it did feel so good. We are definiely going to keep it up!

And then there were none!
Totally unbelievable. We had two people definitely confirmed to come and audition tonight. One called me an hour before she was due to arrive and said that she wasn't going to come as she didn't feel ready to be in a band yet and then just to completely round things off the other girl failed to turn up (and gave no explanation or apology).
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
On the plus side we did get some good rehearsal time in and we were all very positive about how things had gone (aside from the fact that we have auditioned NO singers!)

Practice and Warhammer
Spent the afternoon continuing to practice some songs as Hollywood Doll were auditioning some singers tonight. In between songs I tried to keep involved in a game of Warhammer with Sam, Aaron and Gemima. Lucky old Toni managed to bypass all that as she was preparing dinner.
Off to see Hazel
As a result of her ongoing troubles, Hazel asked us to go round and see her today (presumably for some sensible human interaction). Hazel's mum came over and as it was a lovely day we all sat out in the garden drinking tea and chatting (Jon was out there but was very quiet). Iz seemed very tired and May was bouncing around like a maniac and the kitten from hell was in fine form and had me shrieking when it scaled my legs using its claws, thanks kitty!.

Anthem
Toni and I met up with Hazel and headed off to the Oakland Hotel in SWF to see a rock covers band called Anthem. I wanted to go along as I used to be in Sticky Sweet with the guitarist, Paul. When we got to the pub I popped over and said hi to Paul before sending a message to Mark and Sam saying they should come down if they were at a loose end. Much to our delight they came and joined us.
It was a fun night and was good to get Hazel out and about as she is having a bit of nightmare with various things at the moment.
The band were good and we all had a laugh singing along.
Sammy up to no good!

Hazel

Despite what this picture suggested, Hazel and Sammy haven't fallen out with each other and were actually having a laugh!

Going to the Oakland was an eye opener for me. It seems to be a den of "what not to wear" fashion disasters. Unfortunately the size of the venue meant it was difficult to catch a lot of the evidence. I do have one tip for all you girls in SWF though (and there was more than one offender tonight), if you want to wear sexy shoes then please please PLEASE, buy ones that fit you!

Capitals qualify for the play offs!
WOOOHOOOOOO!
Watched the Edinburgh Capitals webcast as the comfortably beat Manchester Phoenix 6 - 3 to cement their 8th place in the league and qualification for the play offs. Am really glad it didn't go down to the last game of the season. Now all the Capitals have to do is beat the league champions, Sheffield Steelers, over 2 games next weekend and they'll be at the play off final weekend in Nottingham for the first time ever.

Early start and stuff
Woke up early and was up by 08:30 today feeling much much better. I suspect the Vertical Rush and then gigging all night on Thursday (plus possibly the small lurgy) just zapped me yesterday.
Did some Edinburgh Capitals stuff and then we went to Chelmsford so that Aaron and Gemima could go to Game and Games Workshop.
We had lunch when we got back and then Sam, Aaron and Gemima were all playing their PSPs and DSs whilst I played guitar and Toni did sme stuff on her laptop. One bad back later I was persuaded to give Toni massage as she was really starting to hurt.

It all caught up with me!
Had a rough day today. The low level lurgy that I feared was hiding just before my Vertical Rush decided to manifest itself this morning. Started off with just a sniffle but this gradually got worse and worse. I was like a zombie by the time Toni picked me up from work.
When we got home I took a Lemsip and went to bed for some sleep. Woke up briefly to have something to eat before going to bed and crashing straight out again, I don't even remember Toni coming to bed later on.

Tragedy & Spit Like This @ O2 Academy
Following the excitement of my Vertical Rush, Toni, Sam and I went and had a meal at Nandos before going to her mum's to get ready for a night at the O2 Academy to see The Morning After, Spit Like This & Tragedy. Three bands for a fiver can't be bad!
It was a fantastic night.
Toni and Sam:

Toni and I:

The gang's all here:

The Morning After
These guys weren't bad, they were entertaining to watch and had some nice harmonic guitars and vocals. It was good that they didn't take themselves too seriously, throwing some cheesy poses as the set progressed. My only criticism would be of the singer who every now and again would stop singing and go into shouty/screamo style. Dude, you can sing and should!

See all the pics of The Morning After here: 190309TheMorningAfter
Following The Morning After Toni and went in search of Vikki Spit (bass player for Spit Like This) as I had promised here that I would be dressing "Vikki Spit stylee" and she wanted a photo taken!
Vikki and I:

Toni, Vikki and I:

SPIT LIKE THIS
As usual, SPiT LiKE THiS were totally fantastic. You'd never have guess they hadn't done a gig in ages as they sounded really tight. It's a shame they weren't headlining as their set just wasn't long enough for me. Lord Zion introduced Sweet Transvestite and then Vikki looked at me and asked if there were any trannys in the house (can't think why LOL). And YES I did respond!

See all the Spit Like This photos here: 190309SpitLikeThisTheO2Academy#
.......and last but not least came..............
TRAGEDY
With the crowd suitably warmed up, by Spit like This, Tragedy certainly did not disappoint. They were even better than when we saw them supporting The Wildhearts. The show was a glitter-fest from start to finish with a load of balloons and confetti thrown in for good measure. All the Bee Gees classics were there heavy metal style! Toni was delighted as Robin Gibbens handed her a drumstick!
Robin Gibbens:

Vertical Rush!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow!
I was SO nervous travelling up to London today for the Vertical Rush. We drove to North Greenwich, got me some knee supports and then had coffee at Starbucks before heading into town. My head was really all over the place and I even zoned out on the tube at one point trying to get myself into a good place.
As we exited Liverpool Street station and started walking to Tower 42 we could see it looming and it looked pretty ominous and daunting.
Here's me at Liverpool Street with Tower 42 just about visible:

And here is Tower 42 looming!

Met up with Matt and David outside Tower 42 and we went to the City Financials London office to pick up Ryan and Emmanuel (and get changed).
The waiting around before the Vertical Rush started was actually the worst bit of all.
Here's CFUK beforehand:

Do I look knackered?

I should think so! My target was 15 minutes, Sam said he would buy me a pint if I did it in less than 14 and my actual time was 11 minutes 47 seconds, it was bloody hard work but I was delighted with the result!
Full CFUK team times were as follows:
Emmanuel - 7:26
Matt - 8:44
David - 8:52
Ryan - 11:13
Keith - 11:47
Of the whole event the fastest runner came in at 4:22 and the slowest was 19:08 so we by no means disgraced ourselves!
And afterwards we looked like this:

It was a good day, a great team effort (and yes they were all faster than me) but it was a major achievement and we managed to raise £1264.61 for Shelter.
Would I do it again? HELL YEAH!

Light training and early night
Decided to take it easy tonight as I was starting to ache a bit from my new regime and didn't want to do anything that might inhibit my ability to complete the Vertical Rush tomorrow.
Sam and I dad a chat with Liz (my personal trainer at the gym)and she wished me all the best and said I'd be fine (not sure I was convinced of it at that moment LOL)
Popped home and Toni had arrived, had a light meal, watched Total Recall and then Toni gave me a quick massage before having an early night

One giant step...........
.........well it was for me!
Some of the good things about going to the gym with Sam are that he is:
a) someone to talk to
b) someone to help encourage me and push me
c) someone to take my attention off the beefcake/fitness addicts that hang out and pose around gyms and make you feel intimidated
Part c is the important part here and is the reason I would never have signed up to a gym without a buddy. Well today I had a dilemma, I wanted and needed to go to the gym tonight (with Thursday getting ever closer) but Sam was otherwise engaged with after school musical activities and I hated the thought of going alone. I bit the bullet though, got in from work, didn't relax too much as this would have meant I'd have just stayed home, got my gear on and headed off for a workout.
It was a big step for me (and I know it sounds really silly) but it was defintely worth pushing myself and doing it. Had a really good session and didn't feel like a tiny puny ant at all.
It's funny though, I know I am achieving so much and pushing my body to new limits but 42 flights of stairs still scares the living daylights out of me!

Good workout
Had a good long session at the gym tonight, we were there for over an hour. The new programs that I have been given really started to kick in and I could feel my body suddenly having to work harder (which is a good thing by the way). Only a few more days to go until the Vertical Rush and the nearer it gets the more scared I am!
Still, I am not looking to break any records, just to get to the top and be able to say that I achieved it.
The Vertical Rush takes place this Thursday, 19th March.
Target was £750 and we are currently sitting at £1119.61!!!
Donations can be made online here: www.justgiving.com/cfuk

A big THANK YOU to all you lovely people who have donated so far for the Vertical Rush in aid of Shelter. We have now passed our target and are absolutely delighted. Just because the target has been reached it doesn't mean that we don't want to raise more money so anybody who hasn't donated please consider making a small contribution to this worthy cause.

Visit to see Sophie, Shane and Scarlett
Spring cleaning, sort of
Toni and I got up early today as I wanted to tidy the house up a bit. As it was we went much further than that and it almost like a spring clean. We got loads done and the house looks much better. Lots of things were moved around in the kitchen to make it easier to work in there (much to Sam's disgust as he isn't big on change LOL)

Vendetta time
It's that time of the month again! Vendetta at Evolution. We decided that we weren't going to go made with dressing up for this one (which was weird in itself).
The plan had been to go with Hazel who had offered to drive but due to some personal issues she had to cancel at the last minute so Toni ended up driving us.
We met up with Abigail and had a natter and a giggle. Chatted with a a few friends. It was nice to see the club a little busier than usual with the addition of DJ James bringing in some of the former It's A Sin crowd but something didn't feel right. It didn't feel completely like Vendetta, in fact it just didn't feel like our club any more. Now this could be because we were both a bit tires and nursing headaches or it could be that a lot of our friends no longer attend Evo due to some political stuff that happened. Some of the newer people seemed far less down to earth and more poseur than what we are used to, reminded me a bit of how the London clubs can be. I guess we'll see what the next one is like.
Despite the strange feeling it was still a good night and the music has definitely improved which is a big plus.

Health check passed with flying colours
Went to the gym at 16:00 today to have a pre Vertical Rush check up with my personal trainer. All went well and Liz was really happy with my progress. She has now uppped the ante on my training regime to keep things going well. Biggest result for me (apart from my weight loss) was being told that my body fat had reduced from 33% when I first started to 27%, now that made me happy and really proud.
The most lazy day ever!
Lots was planned for today.........didn't happen! Toni and I didn't wake up until 14:20! It was nice!

Work Xmas do
Yes you did read that right. This evening City Financials held their Xmas 2008 event. The original one was cancelled as they company had their event closed down and then they went bust so it was nice to have something re-arranged even if it was a bit late.
Chosen venue was The Embassy Club in Mayfair. I met Toni at Stratford and then we got the tube in and arrived a bit early and started the champagne with Nick, Matt and Mike Miles (who were already there). While we were waiting for everyone else to arrive we saw some dude arrive in a red suit who liked he was going to do a James Brown impression. I then spotted a woman darting around various people and glimpsed X Factor on her t-shirt so assumed it was some sort of singing then. It soon transpired that she was from X Factor Speed Dating and we all sniggered when the girl asked us if we were there for that! In keeping of my cataloguing of fashion disasters here is the aforementioned suit (although it looks orange it is red!):

Gradually everybody else filtered through and we headed to our tables for a very nice meal. I have to confess that after 2 glasses of champagne and a bottle of white I was just a tad squiffy! It was a good evening and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
My starter was duck with a rude set of tomatoes!

A few random pics around the table:

Main course was steak (can you spot the chef's theme?)

Hardcore Superstar @ ULU
Toni and I headed to good old London town to see Hardcore Superstar at the ULU. Well actually we wanted to go and see Tigertailz supporting but Hardcore Superstar were an added bonus. Unfortunately due to Sam being ill, he was unable to make it :o(
We kicked off the evening with some food at trusty old Pizza Hut.
Toni:

Me:

How to look like a monkey!

On so, following food, we arrived at ULU and on to the bands...........
Heaven's Basement
By the time we arrived Heaven's Basement were about half way through their set. What we saw we liked though. A fun band to watch with some great tunes.

View all the Heaven's Basement pics here: 120309HeavenSBasementULU#
We met up with Matt, Becky, Jodie and Armitage after Heaven's Basement and had a catch up about Hollywood Doll and gigs in general.
Jodie Squirrel and Armitage:

Matt & Becky:

Do we need introduction? LOL

Tigertailz
Tigertailz were totally awesome, much better than when we saw them supporting Y&T and they seem to be really tight now and forging forwards with great speed now that they have decided to continue as unit. One of my all time favourite bands who failed to disappoint. Can't wait to see them again!

Hardcore Superstar
And then came the headliners..........great band, great show, full of energy and really fun to watch.

Following the gig we headed back to the tube station and then we gave Matt & Becky a lift back to Canvey Island.
I swear Matt is almost smiling in this picture!

Forgive me father............
............ I have sinned.
I have fallen and given in to temptation, not sure what my penance should be.
Geoff had to go to the London office for some training and he returned with a chuffing huge box of Krispy Kreeme doughnuts.
I would like to say that I fought hard to overcome the temptation but I didn't I was in that box faster than light!
Had to be done, Krispy Kreeme's are SO GOOD!

Sam is still not well so is missing school again. Poor boy will also be missing a gig tonight that he was really looking forward to. Hope he is well by tomorrow as he is supposed to be staying over at a friends house.

REPO! The Genetic Opera
Stop the presses, get this film and watch it, it is awesome!
Sam and I watched REPO! The Genetic Opera and it was absolutely fantastic. It's a futuristic rock opera with some big names, Anthony Stewart Head, Sarah Brightman and Paris Hilton to name but a few!
In the year 2056 - the not so distant future - an epidemic of organ failures devastates the planet. Out of the tragedy, a savior emerges: GeneCo, a biotech company that offers organ transplants, for a price. Those who miss their payments are scheduled for repossession and hunted by villainous Repo Men. In a world where surgery addicts are hooked on painkilling drugs and murder is sanctioned by law, a sheltered young girl searches for the cure to her own rare disease as well as information about her family's mysterious history. After being sucked into the haunting world of GeneCo, she is unable to turn back, as all of her questions will be answered at the wildly anticipated spectacular event: The Genetic Opera.

One week tomorrow............
.........until I push my body to realms it has NEVER EVER been pushed before. Thursday 19th March is VR-Day, the Vertical Rush up Tower 42 in London to raise money for Shelter. I've done more physical exercise in the last 6 weeks to prepare for this event than I have ever done in my life and I suddenly don't feel ready at all. I have a healthy repect for Tower 42 and am no totally in awe of the 920 steps, over 42 floors, that I am about to battle. I'll be honest, it scares the shit out of me.
There was an article in the Metro yesterday of a guy that did a test run in 6 minutes 40 seconds. The record is just over six minutes with first timers doing it in average of 9 minutes. Our team are looking to do it in 15 minutes. Suddenly that seems like a really tall order!
Will have to up the ante at the gym for the next 7 days and see how we go from there. Have an appointment with my personal trainer on Saturday for a health check so hopefully that will be positive.

Good weekend
It was a good weekend. Made a nice change to have all the kids together and them all getting on rather than there being an "atmosphere".
Battlefield SWF!
Broom broom!
Under duress Toni persuaded me to go for a drive in the car. I was a bit reluctant as I've been nervous about it since the accident but we went nevertheless.
Had a few circuits if the station car park to break me in gently, most of it came back to me although there are a few things that I need to brush up on. Plan is to do this a couple more times and then we'll try out the real roads (EEK!)
Although I was nervous I am really glad that we did it.

Southend - flyering and chilling
Toni, Aaron, Gemima and I went to Southend today to meet Cat and Mark (and Abigail) to do some flyering for Vendetta. We arrived and Cat and Mark were in The Alex about to eat so the rest of us went for a wander and then off to Utopia for coffee. Spent ages in there just chatting and chilling out.
Did I say something funny? LMFAO

Gemima, glare, slurp!

Aaron, slurp, glare!

It's in there somewhere Abigail!

Oooo-errrr!

My coffee and Toni's pretty coffee!

After further delays (cos Mark had forgotten the flyers altogether) we went for more shopping, notably Dead Glam and To Die For. We then tried a few tattoo/piercing places as Aaron and Abigail wanted piercings but we failed miserably to find anywhere that would a) do Aaron, b) fit us in, c) had a piercer available.
Flyering was a disaster as there was nobody around that was really Vendetta material (and all those that might have looked the part were all under 18). Ho hum! Still, was nice to get out with friends and it was a lovely day.

Quiet Friday
Nice relaxing evening tonight. Toni picked me up from work and we had jacket potato and bolognaise for dinner and then we chilled out and watched Don't Mess With The Zohan.
Sam was out for the evening at a Comic Relief gig at his school and came back later on full of beans (well caffeine drink and kebab!)
Had a nice snuggly early night

WOW! The target for our Vertical Rush sponsorship was £750. As it stands, with 2 weeks to go, our donations so far are £764.61. I know that some of the guys haven't really pushed for donations yet so I am so pleased that we have met our target already. let's not stop there though. Potential singers for Hollywood Doll
Received a message from Matt today with some great news. He has found two potential singers for Hollywood Doll. The plan now is to get them both to learn a couple of songs and then get them into the studio for an hour each and try them out and see how they get on. Should be interesting if they both come to see how things go, one is a woman and the other is a man.
After the songwriting last night I am now getting all fired up again, fingers crossed that one of them works out and we can complete the Hollywood Doll line up.

Back in the gym again!
Sam and I hit the gym again tonight and it felt good. I will have to step up my training a bit as its just over two weeks before I have to do the Vertical Rush. Training is going well though and I do feel much more confident about things than I did before.
PS - it's still not too late to sponsor CFUK in the Vertical Rush. Just make a donation here: http://www.justgiving.com/cfuk

Writing songs
Got my guitar out tonight and started working on some Hollywood Doll material. Sam was listening to what I was playing and came up with some hilarious off the wall (and rude) lyrics. We ended up jamming and putting together a whole song which we'll be recording for a laugh at some point.
It was good to be playing again (and fun to do something musical with Sam)

Damn trains!
Grrrr, grumble grumble.
I was all set to go to the gym tonight. Train from Shenfield to Wickford was on time and the plan was to go to the gym as soon as I got home. National Express had other plans however!
Got to Wickford and my next train was cancelled. Did toy with getting a taxi but it's not cheap so decided to wait the 40 minutes until the next train. Unfortunately there were all sorts of delays and I ended up having to wait 55 minutes for the train and so ended up getting home over an hour later than usual. By that time all my enthusiasm for the gym had gone (standing on a platform in the freezing cold will do that to you!)
Both Toni and mum had nagged me about the gym during the day so I felt that I was letting them both down but I really didn't feel like going after a nightmare journey home.

Got my parcel finally!
Went to the sorting office with Toni first thing this morning to pick up my parcel that never materialised. As it was en route to work I didn't have time to stand and lodge a complaint. I did however realise what went wrong.....the parcel first failed to be delivered on 23/02/09. I went online and asked for redelivery for Thursday 26/03/09 stating that the first delivery was on the 23/02/09. As you all know this didn't arrive. Looking at the parcel today the Post Office had written 24/02/09 on it so presumably when my request came in they couldn't find it as the date was different. I guess the fact that the name and delivery address was to subtle for them to realise that maybe that it still needed redelivery! Grumble grumble, ho hum, at least I have it now!

Chill out Sunday!
Sometimes it is nice to just do not a lot!
Sam had his mates over last night and no doubt didn't get to sleep until the wee small hours so we were not going anywhere near the living room for fear of what we might see LOL.
Instead we opted to stay in bed, have a cup of tea and watch the rest of Hot Fuzz and then Dodgeball. Once the films were finished Sam and friends were up and the friends had drifted off to their homes. Surprisingly Sam had even tidied the living room up which was a delight!.
Toni and I popped out to Asda to get nibbles for lunch and something for dinner.
Veggies, pitta and dips and stuff for lunch and watched Dogma, as I hadn't seen it in a long time and was feeling the need for some Jay and Silent Bob.
Rest of the afternoon was spent with me playing NHL 09 on the PS3 and Toni doing some stuff for Sensoma (a business that she and her sister are putting together).
Lovely rice and mince dinner (thanks to Toni) to accompany the Edinburgh Capitals webcast and a much welcomed 4 - 2 victory over the Belfast Giants.
Rest of the evening comprised of NHL 09 and some social networking sites and, before we realised it, time had raced on and it was midnight so time for bed.
